Superstar KO was designed as a fast-to-fun eliminator mode built around immediacy. The goal was to get players into gameplay quickly without overwhelming them with layered systems, which meant the UI had to communicate progression and rarity at a glance. I led all launch UI content and established a visual direction that introduced a new rarity language distinct from existing modes while remaining aligned with Madden’s broader framework.

Accessibility and flexibility were central to the solution. Because the mode targeted new and returning players, the interface needed to feel intuitive and inclusive. Rarity was communicated through both shape and color to improve clarity for players with color vision deficiencies, while still aligning with familiar conventions. Technical constraints required assets to perform across multiple screens, crops, and animations, so I worked closely with development and integrated playtest feedback throughout to ensure clarity, consistency, and scalability as the mode evolved.
